My name is Jayne Craddock.

jayne I have been doing photography for about 25 years.

Using a Nikon –F held together with duck tape. While other’s pursued wedding photography and studio work I went towards media.  I have had my share of front pages. This is the one that people remember the most. My tribute to the troops the first time we went to war. Work is steadier if you do weddings, but I would not trade my experiences for any thing. I can say I have meet actors, singers, songwriters, crafters, artists, everyday people and yes, now I can clam to have met a noble prizewinner.  Although he was running for the senate when I took his picture.

In this area there are three people to learn photography from. Bob Couch, who is a local legend, Russell Thomas (who has since passed away from cancer) and Maurice Taylor, who teaches Photography at the local collage and has his own studio. I also studied film photography by correspondence thru The New York Institute of Photography. Back in the day it was almost unheard of in the film world to take a correspondences course but I am glad I did. Chuck Delaney said, ”Go. Look around then get the best shot.”

Yesterday!

jayne Here is a picture of me taken by a photographer named Tom back in the day. We were covering the same strike.  Looking around getting, what I believe to be the best shot of a strike negotiation. I can’t find right now the One that was printed but it was good. Not Bragging He just looked right at me. As if this were his moment also.

Here I am today!

Today I Photograph tourist events and happens in Tennessee. I am a Certified Tennessee Tourism Professional, a member of The Tennessee Tourist Round Table and Tennessee Backroads Heritage. jayne I study something everyday. On photography Liz Masoner - About.com Photography Guide, I get Outdoor Photography the magazine, and any thing Nikon sends I read. Once again I looked to the N.Y.I.P. for help learn digital. I think with today’s cameras anyone can be a photographer. I miss the days of film. A film camera you can cheat. You become one with the camera and you can make light do the most amazing things. It seems a little harder with digital. I miss the quietness of the dark room. The digital darkroom is more intense. I am still at 50, learning, shooting and leaving my mark to show my world.

I just have the help of more people.

Special thank to, Doc – TennesseeTourist.com, Liz Masoner, web-doc4unu.com, Bill Work and Distinctive photography.

I hope you enjoy my pictures.
